Viewing stream in VLC

Hello. I've set up an nginx rtmp server on my laptop and am trying to send a stream to it from a Teradek Vidiu Go. Port forwarding has been enabled on my router and when I hit the broadcast button on the Vidiu it goes Live. However, I cannot view the incoming stream on VLC or OBS. I don't get an error in VLC when I type in the rtmp ingest so it seems as if it is being sent but is not being displayed in VLC. Can anyone help?
