Am I in over my head?

Hello all,
I'm a retired IT manager. I have a Tomcat web server running http. I would like to implement TLS and the folks at the the Lets Encrypt forum suggested that an NginX reverse proxy would be a good way to go. I'm wondering if this might be a bit over my head or not. As I understand it, I would need to first build a Linux box and install NginX. and then configure it to sit between my tomcat server and the Internet. I have an old Dell laptop to use as the Linux box. The webserver is a Windows 10 box in my basement behind a Netgear Orbi firewall using NoIP to get to the internet.

I'm looking for feedback on the complexity of this task. I see my options as a) do it myself with support from forums such as this, b) find a (paid) consultant to assist me, or c) work with an outsourcer like Cloudflare to implement https. Cloudflare's website says they have a free product for "hobby" websites. I've sent them an inquiry and am awaiting a reply. My site uses the ResCarta toolkit to present photos and text documents for our local historical society.

Thanks in advance for your help.
