allowing specific http locations for https only back-end

i have a back-end server which is setup for https only.

there are a handful of specific urls that i would like to make available to non-ssl clients via nginx front.

i tried a couple of things but i can't seem to get it to work correctly.

is this possible? if so, can anyone suggest the appropriate config syntax?

any guidance appreciated!
